Kid Find: Distinctive T-Shirt Art
“T-shirts are the staple of my son’s wardrobe. Short-sleeve, long-sleeve. Ironic and iconic, funny and funky. He’s got them all. So it’s pretty hard to get me to look twice at a new kind of shirt.
But the shirts from Decatur-based Lark and Loon stand out from the crowd. The two moms who started this business started the line by commissioning artists from around the country to create designs for the shirts. What makes these shirts so distinctive is how they’re printed. The designs are screen-printed with water-based inks, which create a soft, transparent look. The result is totally unique and simply adorable. Besides, where else will you find a shirt featuring an octopus playing guitar or forest friends hosting a tea party?”
